Faux Pas

Okay, so Prada shoes gave me a huge blister, about the size of a penny, on my left heel. Ouch. I looked totally fashionable walking with a limp for half the day. But, then again, really fashionable people don't complain about pain. Fashion before comfort and all that. Beauty is pain, and vice versa.

My outfit today was totally hot, though. AND comfortable. I wish I had a picture of it, but I'll probably wear it again.

There was something else I felt the need to inform yous guys of last time, in a post script, but now I can't remember it, so it musn't have been very important.

Ugly Sweater Party

Hey guys, back to school tomorrow. I need to decide on a full week's worth of awesome outfits.

I think on the first day I will wear a white t-shirt, my denim leggings, a skinny red belt and/or ginormous black floral pin, and my Prada oxfords, seeing as I don't have to walk very far.

---

For our last week of freedom, some of my friends and I did some fun stuff, like go to the zoo.

Friday night we had an Ugly Sweater Party. I had gone out the day before and bought three sweaters at Value Village. The one I ended up wearing was a red cardigan with cows on it and a barn on the back. The other two I bought because one of them was probably the most hideous sweater I had ever seen (it looked like someone had chewed up a bunch of other sweaters and then thrown them up again), and the other was that type of sweater that every man had in the eighties. Yeah, that one.
Anyway, we had chocolate fondue, and watched cheesy horror movies, then my friends Cat, Junior, and I stayed up until 6 a.m. doing next to nothing.

"They are souls, but they can't be saved."

... Communists, apparently. Looks like I'm going straight to hell.

Hello Dean, my only follower.

So, what's up with me? I have spent a lot of money on clothes lately.

On Monday I ordered a lot of clothing from Urban Outfitters, including a few pairs of $90 trousers that had been marked down to $20. I was quite proud of myself. And thought that this justified my spending a little.

This morning I got a vintage skirt in the mail. It's another Etsy purchase. It's super cute. I wore it today:

Also, I bought that necklace yesterday, at H&M, when I went to Square One to see 500 Days of Summer, which was an excellent movie. I had slept over at a friends house the night before, and had packed an outfit, but had forgotten to accessorise it. So I had to buy a necklace when I got to the mall.

I had been so looking forward to this movie, and it didn't disappoint. I love Zooey Deschanel, as both actress and singer. And her outfits were great, too. I especially loved this little periwinkle-blue-ish dress that she wore to a co-worker's wedding.

And her apartment... Gah! To. Die. For. Makes me want to leave home even more desperately. The highlights were were wallpapers and paper-crane tree.

The soundtrack was also awesome. Who doesn't love The Smiths?

Anyway, I leave you with one of my outfits from one of my (far fewer than 500) days of Summer.

Just a simple grey t-shirt dress, white zip-up canvas shoes, my faux-wayfarers, and one of the best vintage buys I have ever made: my black hat.

Updating.

Hai guyz. Or guy, as Dean seems to be my only follower.

I wore my new (vintage) Prada shoes out of the house for the first time today. There's no going back now. Those beautiful soles are well and truly scratched.

I have a bunch of outfits to post here, but I need to move them from the camera to my computer first.

I'm not sure whether to dye my hair red again or go a darker brown. I already have a dye for either option, so...

OUTFIT DUMP!

So, it is now summer. Usually I'm not too big a fan of summer clothes, I prefer the fall palette. Nevertheless, I thought I'd give this whole summer thing a go this year. Also, you'll be able to see my new haircut. These pictures are all from my DailyBooth:

A whiter shade of pale.

Wore this to Anime North. Sans shoe-horn sword.

My new summer shades and grocery store shorts.

Wore to friend's 19th birthday dinner.

Demonstrating that this season your jewelry is not meant to match your outfit. Lounging wear.

My new, super-hot shorts. I bought them in two colours. I wore them to the grocery store to buy magazines and turnover, and then tested them out on public transit. It kind of looks like I'm wearing grey tights in this picture, but I assure you that those are my bare legs. >_<;

In other fashion news, I recently got a credit card, and my first purchase with it was a pair of totally awesome vintage shoes. They should be coming in the mail any day now.

These beauties are soon to be mine.

Also, in Max Fischer-costume news, I want to have a Wes Anderson-themed birthday party this year. Some time in July or August, probably, as my actual birthday is in September. It'll be a garden party, we'll listen to music from the movie soundtracks, and you'll have to come dressed as (or at least in an outfit inspired by them).
This means that red jumpsuits, toques & speedos, and O.R. scrubs are all fair game.

Oh ARE they?

So I was thinking...

Max Fischer for next Hallowe'en?

It would be pretty awesome, I think.

And anybody who actually knew who that was would become an instant friend [candidate].

That is an old picture, by the way. Like, old-old.

I'll need to get a pic up of my new hurr.

I like it a lot.

And my new fish.

I like him a lot, too.

So this week there's a sale on at H&M. You buy three items and get the least expensive one free. So I went to the mall on Tuesday and bought lots of cute clothes. I should get pictures up here soon.

Also, I got a haircut today. It's really just a clean-up of the style I had to begin with, but I had it cut at an actual salon this time. It was weird, because somebody other than myself washed my hair for me. The woman who cut my hair used lots of product and blow-dried it with a round brush, so it's really voluminous and kind of crispy at the moment. It'll be interesting to see what it looks like tomorrow when I style it normally.

I'm kind of going on a date on Friday. It's a guy from work, his name's Rob. I'm not too sure how I feel about him. Anyway, we were originally going to see a movie (which could have turned out to be the height of awkwardness), but now we're going to a show at a bar near my house.

My friend Dean is drumming for some metal band called Inersia. (PS - This is Dean's blog: http://deanstersnow.blogspot.com/ ) It's been a while since I've seen him, so that'll be cool. Hopefully a more communal dynamic will make things less awkward. Now I just have to figure out what to wear.

And oh! I was the art director for a play that was one of my high school's submissions to the Sears Festival. It was called The Russian Play. I designed the sets, and, well, directed the art. Anyway, The Russian Play made it through to the main competition! It's super exciting.
